Diffusion of GFP when expressed under the phloem companion cell promoter SUC2 in Arabidopsis wildtype root apical meristem and in the differentiation zone. The figure shows a reconstructed tomogram section of a simple plasmodesmata found in a 6-day-old Arabidopsis root. The picture was taken by William Nicolas at the Bordeaux imaging Centre and was extracted from Knox and Benitez-Alfonso, COPS, 2014.
